A state judge has ordered gambling regulators to give the Oneida Indian Nation some documents used to determine casino license awards in upstate New York.
The Oneidas are seeking the information from the state Gaming Commission as they challenge the state's selection of the del Lago Resort & Casino for one of three licenses. The Oneidas in another lawsuit claim the commission's process was flawed, a contention challenged by Lago's developers.
The Oneida's Turning Stone casino is less than 100 miles east of the developing casino. They claim the public has the right to see the documents.
State Supreme Court Justice Vincent Reilly in Schenectady this week ordered the commission to release statistical and factual data, but said they could omit expert opinions and recommendations.
Commission spokesman Lee Park said the Gaming Commission is reviewing the decision.
