Residents are set to protest tonight at a hearing on a proposed gas pipeline in East Greenbush.
Stop NY Fracked Gas Pipeline and Community Advocates for a Sustainable Environment say they'll protest outside the 6 p.m. meeting of National Grid’s public hearing at The Red Barn on Town Park Road in Rensselaer County.
Activist Ruth Foster says the utility hasn't released enough information about the pipeline plan. "We're calling for an extension of the time we can submit comments. And we're calling for another meeting to be held in about two months after we've had a chance to review the project."
Foster says there is no gas shortage in East Greenbush, hence no need for a pipeline.
