The 20-year old Albany man accused of firing a gun that resulted in a lockdown at Crossgates Mall last month has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder and other charges.
An attorney for Tasheem Maeweather says he just stopped by the mall to buy sneakers when a gun was fired. Thousands were evacuated after witnesses described loud noises inside the mall around 2:30 p.m. Saturday, November 12th. There were no reports of injuries. According to the Times Union, Maeweather's attorney, Lee Kindlon, made the assertion his client was buying sneakers during his arraignment Monday in Albany County Court. An assistant DA says Maeweather will not be offered any plea deal.
