Police in one Upstate New York city want to be able to access live red light cameras 24/7.
The city wants capability to remotely monitor the cameras' live streams at all times. Albany issued a request for proposals Friday - the Times Union reports red-light camera companies have until the end of January to submit plans for installing the equipment designed to photograph red-light runners at up to 20 city intersections.
The cam plans were first publicized in 2014 - Albany's 2015 budget banks on $2 million in red-light camera revenue.
