My One and Only have described themselves as “delivering emotionally-honest lyrics that will lead you to wander through the hidden scenes in their lives," accompanied by raw vintage guitars and the intimate harmonies that only life-long lovers could discover. With their polar-opposite musical backgrounds, Kassie and Benjamin meld old-school country, singer-songwriter, and alternative folk-rock into a sound that’s been described as “Southern-Soul and Curious-Grit.” As to sound, the Americana duo is driven by a racing-striped acoustic guitar (with some family history) and a suitcase kick-drum, but the bold vocal harmonies seal the deal. At times, Kassie and Benjamin’s voices seamlessly intertwine to create delicate thoughtful moments, while other times cultivating a roar of angst. Not only have they toured throughout America, but My One and Only has done two tours in Uganda, working in conjunction with a ministry there to produce youth conferences that incorporate concerts, Bible teaching sessions and youth training.  Their heart for broken families and orphaned children comes to light in their songwriting and in their between-song stories during live performances. Since gracing our stage in November 2019 My One and Only has released multiple singles including “O World,” “Naturally” and most recently “Running Me.”  So enjoy, My One and Only recorded Live at the Linda on November 13th, 2019.

The Infamous Stringdusters formed in 2005. Based out of Nashville, the acoustic group strike a balance between old-timey bluegrass and more indie jamgrass, but always with an emphasis on solid instrumental work to put out a sound that's both organic and groove friendly. The Stringdusters have earned their stellar reputation among bluegrass fans right, with three International Bluegrass Music Association awards on their shelf for their 2007 debut album, "Fork in the Road." They began exploring a more ambitious musical approach with 2010's “Things That Fly.” The Stringdusters' genre-spanning approach got a workout on 2016's “Ladies & Gentlemen,” in which they collaborated with 11 different female guest musicians. In 2017 they took home a Grammy Award for “Laws of Gravity,” which was declared Best Bluegrass Album of the year.  The band’s latest album, “A Tribute to Bill Monroe,” was created in the spirit of going back to their roots as a catalyst for growth and evolution. “My Sweet Blue Eyed Darling,” the album’s first single, is out now on all streaming platforms. The full album is due out May 28th. So now, from the Vault, here is the Infamous Stringdusters recorded Live at the Linda on March 19th, 2009.

We realize that the impacts of COVID-19 have been dire for working musicians and the music industry as a whole. The Linda: WAMC’s Performing Arts Studio is thrilled to let you know about “The Open for Takeout Virtual Concert Series” produced in collaboration with Chromoscope Pictures. The program features local and regional musicians playing on The Linda stage and viewable worldwide online through Youtube. The goal of this series is to bring musicians back to the stage in a safe environment and provide fans with a professionally produced concert delivered directly to your homes.  Similar to some of our in-person concerts, these are ticketed events. And similar to all in-person concerts at The Linda, we will insure the highest standard of production.
