WAMC's Brian Shields speaks with Nippertown's Greg Haymes about the local music scene. This month's theme is "real good for free." All bands from the local 518 are playing free outdoor shows this month.

Pony in the Pancake's "Summer Moments" from their album Back to Yesterday, playing at the Hudson Music Festival in 7th Street Park in Hudson at 3 Saturday.

Bear Grass's "Glue" from Stories in Books, playing at the Hudson Music Festival in 7th Street Park in Hudson at 5 Saturday.

The Lustre Kings' "That's Show Biz," the title track of their 2004 album, playing at 6 Monday in Thurman Town Park; 6 Tuesday in Stony Creek Town Park; and 7 Thursday in Haslett Park in Ft. Plain.

Sensemaya's "Shake It!," the title track of their 2009 debut album, playing at the Empire State Plaza at The Egg at noon Wednesday as part of the Made in the Shade of The Egg concert series, as well as part of the New York State Food Festival.

Out of Control's "Shake the Nation," the title track of their 1996 album, playing at 7:30 August 20 for the Lake George Arts Project's concert series at Shepard Park in Lake George.
