The Octavo Singers

The Octavo Singers of Schenectady is an 80-year-old community chorus of about 100 singers. The group was founded by the Schenectady Recreation Department with WPA funds during The Great Depression.

They perform large sacred works and present their concerts in big urban churches and synagogues.

This Sunday, May 5th at 3pm they will perform Handel's Judas Maccabeus – with orchestra, at the First Reformed Church in Schenectady, NY. Artistic Director and Conductor, Curtis Funk joins us.

Joe talks to people on the radio for a living. In addition to countless impressive human "gets" - he has talked to a lot of Muppets. Joe grew up in Philadelphia, has been on the area airwaves for more than 25 years and currently lives in Washington County, NY with his wife, Kelly, and their dog, Brady. And yes, he reads every single book.
