21 state, county and municipal leaders have signed a letter calling on New York State to fine New York City 13-point-5 million dollars for sending turbid waters into the Lower Esopus Creek... Hudson Valley Bureau Chief Dave Lucas reports.

The 21 leaders sent a letter to the State Department of Environmental Conservation, which must decide whether to allow the releases of muddy water to go on...  those opposed to the releases argue they damage ecosystems in the Lower Esopus and hinder business and recreational opportunities for communities situated along the Creek.

Elected officials joined business and municipal leaders exploring new ideas - in a spirit of working together toward economic growth -The conference was hosted by CRREO, the New Paltz Center for Research, Regional Education and Outreach (CRREO), and sponsored by The Advocacy Coalition of the Hudson Valley.

NEW PALTZ, NY (WAMC) - Homeowners experiencing property damage from New York City's leaking Delaware Aqueduct will have the option to participate in a buy-out, now that an agreement has been signed between the City's DEP and Ulster County. Hudson Valley Bureau Chief Dave Lucas reports.
 

Officials say the buy-out is the first step in finding relief for the flood victims Town of Wawarsing Supervisor Scott Carlsen points out the aqueduct tunnel has been leaking for at least 30 years.
