RPI Community Advocates and the Pride Center present "8" in Troy

    The play "8" is written by Oscar winner Dustin Lance Black and is based on interviews and transcripts from the Prop 8 trial in California after marriage equality opponents succeeded in having cameras barred from the courtroom. It is made up of interviews, news reports and court transcripts and highlights the main points which led to the court finding Proposition 8 unconstitutional.

In conjunction with RPI Community Advocates and the Pride Center, a staged reading of the play will take place at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall on Friday, March 22 at 7:30pm.

Joining to tell us more, we welcome Aaron Holbritter - the shows director, Isaac Newberry as plaintiff Paul Katami and Gary Maggio as Chief Judge Vaugn Walker.

The Rosendale Theatre Collective Open House

    First opened as a movie theater in February of 1949, the historic Rosendale Theatre in Rosendale, NY was bought by the non-profit organization, The Rosendale Theatre Collective, in August of 2013.

Thanks to support from the community, The Rosendale Theatre Collective reached a fund-raising goal and has been running the theatre since.

Bob Goepfert - “Five Guys Named Moe” at Cohoes Music Hall

“Five Guys Named Moe” is a trifle but what a delicious trifle.  The musical playing at Cohoes Music Hall through March 17 is a delicious piece of entertainment.

Schenectady Civic Players present Alan Ayckbourn’s "A Woman in Mind"

    Tonight the Schenectady Civic Players open a production of Alan Ayckbourn’s A Woman in Mind.

After stepping on the tooth end of a garden rake, Susan experiences hilarious hallucinations in which her boring and oppressive everyday life is replaced by a fantasy. Now she is the ideal wife with the ideal family! But is this really bliss or has she merely let her sanity lapse? A brilliant and biting black comedy from Britian's comedy genius.

The play explores what is real and what is not, and how we need both to survive. Cast member Amy Lane and Jeremy Clowe join us to tell us more.
