WAMC's Daily Sports Wrap

Well the Spurs have punched their tickets to the NBA’s Western Conference finals…

On the hardwood last night in Los Angeles, Tony Parker hit two consecutive baskets in the final two minutes, finishing with 17 points and six boards, as the Spurs rallied to knock out the Clippers 102-99.  The Spurs, who’ve won 18 straight games, advance to the conference finals where they await the winner of the Thunder-Lakers series.

WAMC's Daily Sports Wrap

Two blowouts last night in the NBA postseason…

On the court in Indiana, George Hill poured in 20 points, Roy Hibbert added 19 points and grabbed 18 boards, as the Pacers pasted the Heat 94-75.  Miami was again without Chris Bosh, who’s sidelined with a strained abdominal muscle, and his absence showed.  Mario Chalmers led the Heat with 25 points, Lebron James had 22, and Dwayne Wade scored just 5 points in the loss.  Indianapolis, who leads the series two-games-to-one, hosts Game 4 Sunday afternoon.

WAMC's Daily Sports Wrap

Well the Devils have evened the Eastern Conference finals at a game apiece…

On the ice last night in New York, David Clarkson's tip-in at 2:31 of the final period proved to be the game-winner, as the Devils grabbed home-ice advantage from the Rangers, beating the Blueshirts 3-2.  Sound courtesy of NBC.  Game 3 is Saturday afternoon in New Jersey.

WAMC's Daily Sports Wrap

Well the Rangers opened the Eastern Conference Finals with a shutout win…

On the ice last night in New York, Chris Kreider ripped a snap shot past Martin Brodeur, one of three third period goals scored by the Rangers, as they shutout the Devils 3-0.  Sound courtesy of NBC.  Henrik Lundqvist made 21 saves for the Rangers, who’ll host the Devils in Game 2 tomorrow night.

WAMC's Daily Sports Wrap

Well the Los Angeles Clippers have won their third postseason series in 41 years – their second since relocating from Buffalo…

On the hardwood yesterday in Memphis, Chris Paul shook off a strained hip flexor to score a team-high 19 points, as the Clippers knocked out the Grizzlies in Game 7 82-72.  Los Angeles advances to take on San Antonio in the Western Conference semifinals.

WAMC's Daily Sports Wrap

Well the Celtics have knocked out the Hawks…

Game 6 on the hardwood last night in Boston, Kevin Garnett scored 28 points, draining a go-ahead jumper with 31 seconds left, to lead the Celtics to an 83-80 series-clinching win over Atlanta.    

Boston advances to take on Philadelphia Saturday night at TD Garden.  The 76ers reached the Eastern Conference semis by becoming just the fifth No. 8 seed to knock out a No. 1 seed after eliminating Chicago 79-78.  Andre Iguodala clinched the series by knocking down a pair of free throws with 2.2 seconds left – he finished with 20.

WAMC's Daily Sports Wrap

Well the Rangers are heading back to New York.  The only problem?  They’re bringing the Capitals with them!

Game 6 on the ice last night in Washington D.C., Alex Ovechkin and Jason Chimera both scored and Braden Holtby made 30 saves, as the Capitals skated past the Rangers 2-1 to force a decisive Game 7 back in New York Saturday night.  The winner advances to take on New Jersey in the Eastern Conference finale.
