In New York, plans have been afoot to revitalize an amusement park in the Hudson Valley, and an announcement about an agreement to get those plans in motion is expected today.

NEWBURGH – There are 400 dams in New York State that are classified as high-hazard and 100 of them are in Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney’s 18th District in Putnam, Westchester, Orange and Dutchess counties.

The freshman Democrat announced on Wednesday that he would introduce legislation next week to provide a new national dam safety program; the previous one expired in 2011.

WASHINGTON – Threats of attack by North Korea on the US and its allies is “very concerning” to Congressman Christopher Gibson (R-NY19).

The House member said on Wednesday that the administration in Washington is taking the “proper steps” in preparation of any action by the North Koreans.

The New York State Public Service Commission is extending the comment period for a proposed utility merger after some area residents and lawmakers requested the extension.
