So, you want to be on The Roundtable? We always love
to get ideas from listeners and organizations in our area. Here are
some tips for getting your idea/event/organization/book/essay on the
show: 1. We work
many weeks in advance. If you'd like to be considered for a segment
please give us at least three to four weeks notice. Please email us a
press release to - roundtable@wamc.org - and write a quick note at the top about why you think your organization should get a spot on the show.
2. If you
have an event you'd like us to feature in our Roundtable Roulette
community calendar, please send a press release to our Senior Producer,
Andy Clegg at aclegg@wamc.org. We
can't mention everyone's event, but we do our best to let everyone know
about the great stuff that's happening in our area. You are encouraged to to
post it on our online events calendar.
3. If you have an essay you'd like to air, just send it to Associate Producer, Sarah LaDuke.
If your essay is selected, you'll be asked to come to our Albany
studios to record. We especially like essays about seasonal or newsy
topics (holidays, weather, events, etc.). We always choose personal
essays over political opinion pieces. If you have written a political
commentary, please submit it to our Managing Editor for News, Katie Britton.
4. If you
work for a publishing company and would like Julia or Joe to take a
look at a new book, please send (just one) copy to this address:
WAMC Northeast Public Radio The Roundtable 318 Central Ave. Albany, NY 12206
5.
If you're a musician part of a musical group, or involved in a theatre production that wants to be
on the show, the best place to help publicize your upcoming concert or
new album is Performance Place. This half-hour live music segment takes
place live at The Linda, our Performing Arts Studio and features classical, jazz,
modern, theatrical, and rock music. If you'd like to be considered,
please send Producers Andy Clegg and Sarah LaDuke
a recording (it doesn't have to be a professionally produced CD, just a
few cuts to give us a sense of your work). Please be sure to enclose
your contact information and we'll be in touch. *
We do answer everyone's email and phone calls, but we have to admit,
email is much easier for us. So if you have a question about a recent
show, just drop us a line at roundtable@wamc.org.
* If you've done all of the above, but haven't heard back yet, feel free to send a follow up email, or try calling again.
FYI -- Some e-mail accounts seem to reject WAMC e-mail, but we're happy to resend.
