Ravenous
21 Phila Street - Saratoga Springs, NY - http://www.ravenouscrepes.com/

Short Description of Ravenous
Ravenous is downtown Saratoga's only crepe restaurant. The owners of this locally-owned, family-run business serve a wide selection of savory and sweet crepes for lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch. Locals also rave about the Belgian pommes frites - fresh-cut, twice-cooked French fries served in paper cones, with your choice of dipping sauce. Beer, wine, hard apple cider, and homemade cold drinks round out a unique menu.

Our crepe fillings include traditional French favorites (like Ratatouille and Ham and Gruyere) as well as other more creative fillings from around the world. We have a few Italian inspired crepes, like Godfather's Garden (Portobello mushroom, garlic, and mozzarella) and Mama Mia. Our nod to Spanish and South American crepe eaters is our decadent "Dulce de Leche" sweet crepe. We have an Indian curry crepe, a crepe called Zorba the Greek, and a Texas Chili crepe. Basically, we have a crepe for every taste.

Daily specials and take out available. Tues - Thurs 11:30AM-8PM, Fri 11:30AM-9PM, Sat 10AM-9PM, Sun 10AM-3PM. Closed Mondays. Weekend Brunch served Saturday and Sunday 10AM - 3PM.

The owners of Ravenous are:
Tina Laino (mom) develops the crepe recipes at Ravenous. Tina experiments in the kitchen and allows only the best ingredients to be used. Although she is not a formally trained chef, she is the best cook we know! Tina used to be a clothes designer who made yearly pilgrimages to Europe for inspiration, turns out she was just as inspired by all the great food.

Francesco D'Amico (husband/son) - senior crepe cook at Ravenous. Fran is really the heart of Ravenous. He has cooked all over the country from Boston, Santa Fe, New Orleans, and Seattle. Ravenous was his first venture into restaurant ownership.

Lauren Wickizer (wife/daughter in law) - manages the front of the house and is the hostess on weekends. She's the one with the French ancestry (though it's a few generations back). Lauren was a copywriter and then a social worker before jumping into the restaurant business.

Lauren, Fran and Tina are all avid WAMC supporters. When we're not at the restaurant, we're behind the wheel or hanging at home listening to Round Table, VoxPop, Fresh Air, Car Talk or whatever is on.

Why we started Ravenous

We are all avid travelers and foodies. We loved the idea of starting a restaurant around the theme of "European street food". We chose to focus on just a few items, but to do them really well. We serve crepes (both savory and sweet) and Belgian pommes frites. We make all crepes to order and use only the freshest ingredients. You can even watch the crepe cook make your crepe, since our kitchen is right in the middle of the dining area. Our potatoes are hand-cut and we make our dipping sauces in house. We serve espresso, beer, and wine and have an atmosphere that is cozy and casual, like many of the sidewalk cafes of Europe.

It's Our Tenth Anniversary
In October 2009 we marked our 10th year in business. We are proud to have reached this important milestone. Thanks to all our loyal customers from Saratoga Springs and the Capitol Region. We couldn't have done it without you!

Ravenous - not a French word! Ravenous - as in, really hungry…
