You can do a lot in 3 hours
What do Daryl Hannah, Alice Cooper, and Deepak Chopra have in common? They all have a place on The Roundtable. This frothy mix of news, arts, culture, and live music features award-winning journalists Joe Donahue and Julia Taylor. Tune in as they report the day 's news, interview local and national authors, and chat with fascinating people from around the corner and around the world.
Regular guests include local independent booksellers, editors from dozens of regional newspapers, and independent music store mavens. From Al Gore to the Albany City Gardener, everyone has a seat at the table. Joe and Julia also take on issues like immigration in Berkshire County, hunger in New York State, and misogyny in hip hop music.
Every morning, WAMC 's Alan Chartock interviews one of the 13 Congresspersons in our listening area, querying them on everything from the Alternative Minimum Tax to climate change. Our live music segment Performance Place rounds out the morning with live music from folks like The Greencards (who stopped by after their tour with Bob Dylan) and gypsy jazz master Wau Wau Adler.
The Roundtable is coming your way! In addition to our television simulcast on Time Warner Channel 3, throughout the summer and into the fall, The Roundtable takes the show on the road. We 've visited Tanglewood in the Berkshires, Lincoln Center in New York City, The Woodstock Film Festival, The Bennington Museum in Vermont, and The Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York.
The best part of The Roundtable is hearing from you. Our daily poll question asks listeners to weigh in on topics such as eating local and China 's changing economy. So give us a call at 1-800-348-2551 between 9:15 -9:30 every morning to let us know what you think.
