Veterans Advocate Announces Write-In Campaign For Rosenberg Senate Seat

Four people say they plan to campaign to win election to the Massachusetts Senate seat that was held for over a quarter-century by Amherst Democrat Stan Rosenberg.

Steven Connor, a Northampton native and a regional veterans’ services director, was setting out to run for the Massachusetts House seat of the late Peter Kocot.

But when Rosenberg resigned, Connor decided to switch gears and mount a write-in campaign.   WAMC’s Pioneer Valley Bureau Chief Paul Tuthill spoke with Connor.

The record-setting tenure of Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno. The 2011 tornado and its recovery that remade the largest city in Western Massachusetts. The fallout from the deadly COVID outbreak at the Holyoke Soldiers Home. Those are just a few of the thousands and thousands of stories WAMC’s Pioneer Valley Bureau Chief Paul Tuthill has covered for WAMC in his nearly 17 years with the station.
