PFOA formula

Officials with the State of Vermont will update Bennington-area residents on the ongoing investigation into PFOA contamination of local water supplies.

Staff with the state’s Agency of Natural Resources will provide an update on the investigation into contamination affecting the east side of Bennington on Monday. The meeting set for 5:30 at the Old First Church at 1 Monument Circle will also detail next steps in the ongoing settlement negotiations with company Saint-Gobain.

A second meeting will be held beginning at 7 p.m. at Bennington College, where more information will be provided on the ongoing work to extended PFOA-free municipal water lines to affected residents.

A Corrective Action Plan is being proposed by the state to address the contamination issue.
