Susan Slotnick And Figures In Flight's Final Performance

Figures In Flight is a professional modern dance company of 14-18 year olds in The Hudson Valley who have been dancing together for over 12 years.

Next month, Figures in Flight Dance Company is going to be performing its last concert ever. After decades of service to the community, director, Susan Slotnick, is retiring. Her choreography has helped thousands of children in the region learn the importance of attention and movement.

Last year, Figures In Flight worked together with their brother company Figures In Flight Released - men who had been trained in dance by Ms. Slotnick while in the Woodbourne Correctional Facility.

Susan Slotnick joins us along with Charles DeFraia - a parent of one of the dancers and public outreach coordinator.

The Game Changer by Indrani Kopal - a documentary about Susan Slotnik’s work in the Woodbourne Correctional Facility was at Woodstock Film Festival this past year and is at the Cannes Film Festival this month.

Figures In Flight final performance will take place on Saturday June 6th, 7:00PM at the Quimby Theater at SUNY Ulster in Stone Ridge, NY.

Joe talks to people on the radio for a living. In addition to countless impressive human "gets" - he has talked to a lot of Muppets. Joe grew up in Philadelphia, has been on the area airwaves for more than 25 years and currently lives in Washington County, NY with his wife, Kelly, and their dog, Brady. And yes, he reads every single book.
