#SportsReport: Crabtree And Talib Get Two Game Suspensions For On-Field Brawl

The new former Oakland Raiders stadium

NFL-NEWS

The NFL has handed down two-game suspensions to both Raiders receiver Michael Crabtree and Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib for their brawl in Sunday's game at Oakland.

The fight was a continuation of a dispute that started last season when Talib ripped Crabtree's chain off during the season finale. Talib once again ripped Crabtree's chain off his neck and took Crabtree's helmet off before throwing it.

NFL-RAVENS/TEXANS

The Baltimore Ravens have their first winning streak since taking the first two games of the season.

Terrell Suggs had both of the Ravens' sacks and forced a fumble as the Ravens knocked off the visiting Houston Texans 23-16. Suggs anchored a Baltimore defensive that didn't allow a touchdown over the final 51 minutes and forced three turnovers, two coming in the final five minutes.

Suggs stripped Tom Savage of the ball to set up Justin Tucker's 49-yard field goal with 2:53 to play. Anthony Levine then intercepted a Savage pass to clinch it.

The Ravens also relied on special teams trickery as punter Sam Koch threw a 22-yard pass to Chris Moore, giving Baltimore a first down at the Houston 19. Javorius Allen followed with a 10-yard TD to tie the game early in the second quarter.

Alex Collins ran for 60 yards and a touchdown as the Ravens improved to 6-5 and dropped the Texans to 4-7.

Savage completed 22 of 37 passes for 252 yards but was picked off twice in Houston's fourth loss in five games.

In other NFL news:

— Trevor Semian is the Broncos' starting quarterback once again after Paxton Lynch started Sunday's loss at Oakland. Denver coach Vance Joseph said on his weekly radio show Monday that Lynch will miss two to four weeks with a high right ankle sprain.

— The Seahawks will be without strong safety Kam Chancellor for the rest of the season due to a neck injury suffered earlier this month. Head coach Pete Carroll announced the news during his weekly radio show on KIRO-AM. Chancellor was hurt late in Seattle's victory over Arizona on Nov. 9 while making a tackle.

— The Lions have put safety Tavon Wilson on injured reserve with a shoulder problem. Wilson has started 23 games over the past two seasons for Detroit.

— The Bills have revealed that wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin does indeed have torn cartilage in his right knee. Head coach Sean McDermott denied Monday that Benjamin had a torn meniscus, but a team spokesman confirmed later that it was torn, saying McDermott had misunderstood the question. Benjamin was injured while making a catch in the Bills' loss to the Chargers on Nov. 19.

NBA-SCHEDULE

The Boston Celtics have split their last four games since ripping off a 16-game winning streak.

The Celtics couldn't handle Andre Drummond on Monday as the Pistons' center had season highs of 26 points and 22 rebounds in Detroit's 118-108 victory in Boston. Drummond grabbed 10 boards in the first quarter and furnished 11 points over the final 5 ½ minutes to send the Pistons to their third win in four games.

Reggie Jackson scored 20 points with seven assists in helping Detroit send the Celtics to their first loss in Boston since their home opener versus the Bucks.

Marcus Smart was 6 of 9 from 3-point range while scoring a team-high 23 points for the Celtics.

It's the first time Boston has lost by more than eight points this season.

In Monday's other NBA action:

— Tony Parker made his season debut and LaMarcus Aldridge had a season-high 33 points to go with 10 rebounds to send the Spurs past the Mavericks 115-108. Parker had six points and four assists in 14 minutes in his first appearance since tearing his right quadriceps tendon during the Western Conference semifinals last season. San Antonio trailed by 13 in the first half and finished the game without coach Gregg Popovich, who was ejected for storming the court to berate an official.

— Willie Cauley-Stein had 19 points, eight boards and six assists as the Kings topped the short-handed Warriors 110-106. Bogdan Bogdanovic made a go-ahead bank shot with 12.6 seconds left to help Sacramento end an eight-game losing skid at Golden State. The Warriors were without All-Stars Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant because of injuries.

— The Cavaliers rolled to their eighth straight win as LeBron James had 30 points, 13 rebounds and six assists in a 113-91 pounding of the 76ers. Jeff Green had 14 points and 10 boards for the Cavs, whose winning streak follows a 5-7 start. Joel Embiid contributed 30 points and 11 rebounds for the Sixers, who lost for only the second time in seven games.

— The Rockets were 117-103 winners over the Nets behind James Harden's eight 3-pointers, 37 points, 10 boards and eight assists. Harden was 5-for-5 from 3-point range while scoring 20 points in the first quarter of Houston's fifth straight win.

— Lou Williams poured in a season-high 42 points and the Clippers came back from a 103-95 deficit to beat the Lakers 120-115. Blake Griffin had 26 points and 11 rebounds for the Clippers, who have won three straight since a nine-game losing streak.

— Victor Oladipo scored 26 points and Bojan Bogdanovic added 22 as the Pacers dealt the Magic their ninth straight loss 121-109. Domantas Sabonis chipped in 19 points for Indiana, which led just 95-91 before going on a 13-0 run.

NBA-FIZDALE FIRED

The Memphis Grizzlies have provided the second coaching dismissal of the NBA season with over three-fourths of the schedule remaining.

David Fizdale has been fired and replaced by assistant B.J. Bickerstaff on an interim basis. The move comes amid an eight-game losing streak that has dropped the Grizzlies to 7-12.

Fizdale was hired in the summer of 2016 after eight years as an assistant at Miami. The Grizzlies made the 2017 playoffs at 43-39 and opened this season 5-1 before slumping while star guard Mike Conley deals with an injury.

The Suns were the first NBA team to fire a coach this season, replacing Earl Watson with Jay Triano after just three games.

Ohio State coach Urban Meyer said quarterback J.T. Barrett is "probable" to play in the Big Ten Championship game against Wisconsin this Saturday.

The 33-year-old Fister has pitched for five teams over nine major league seasons, going 82-58 with a 3.68 earned run average.

Also in the majors:

— The Mariners have signed right-handed pitcher Hisashi Iwakuma to a minor-league contract with an invite to spring training. Shoulder injuries limited him to six starts last season before he underwent surgery in September. He is 63-39 with a 3.42 ERA in six years with Seattle.
