SPAC Announces 2014 Residency Of Philadelphia Orchestra

Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs has announced the 2014 residency of the Philadelphia Orchestra. 
 

The residency will run from August 6 through 23rd. The lineup will include known guest conductors, premieres and pops performances. 
 
Highlights will include  appearances by conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Music Director of The Philadelphia Orchestra; the New York premiere of composer Tan Dun’s Nu Shu: The Secret Songs of Women, a multi-media work featuring Principal Harp Elizabeth Hainen;  and classical musicians Itzhak Perlman, Yo-Yo Ma, Jeremy Denk and Alison Balsom.
 
Guest conductors will include Bramwell Tovey, Cristian Macelaru, Steven Reineke and Stéphane Denève. 
 
The seventeen day residency will also feature an American Songbook opening night, and a Broadway Extravaganza with Tony Award nominees Stephanie Block and Andrew Rannells.
