Report Denounces Rockefeller Drug Laws
By Allison Dunne
Albany, NY – A report released today on the Rockefeller Drug Laws says the public health and poverty implications of drug sentencing are being ignored. The report also shows that the majority of those who spend jail time for drug offenses end up trapped in a cycle of spending time in and out of prison for much of their lives. The report is said to be the first of its kind in putting a human face on the issue. WAMC's Hudson Valley Bureau Chief Allison Dunne filed this report.
