Report: Conn. town's schools seeks security boost
By Jaired Crofut
WVIT-TV, an NBC affiliate, reported that school security was a chief topic at Thursday's Board of Education meeting. The board voted to ask the town to include in next year's budget one additional full-time police officer for each of the four elementary schools.
Board members plan to meet with state and federal officials Friday to discuss funding for security.
Twenty children and six educators were killed Dec. 14 at Sandy Hook Elementary School in one of the worst school shootings in the country. The gunman also killed his mother and later himself.
