Rallies Held Across Region To Support Iran Nuclear Agreement

With more federal lawmakers announcing their positions by the day,  a small rally was held in downtown Plattsburgh Wednesday, part of a national day of action to support the nuclear agreement with Iran.

People for Positive Action organized the rally in front of the offices of U.S. Congresswoman Elise Stefanik.  The freshman Republican announced in July she did not support the nuclear deal with Iran.

A rally targeting Senator Charles Schumer, also an opponent, was held at the same time in Albany.

Plattsburgh resident Bill Cowan urged Congressional opponents to change their mind.  “We risking war if we don’t continue to practice diplomacy. It’s as simple as that.”

The group delivered 56 pages of petitions signed by district constituents asking Congresswoman Stefanik to support the agreement.
