Past Presidential Candidates Popular VP Picks
By Alan Chartock
Albany, NY – Past presidential candidates would make the best vice presidents for Barack Obama and John McCain, several New York callers said on WAMC's "Vox Pop," hosted by Alan Chartock.
The top contenders for the VP jobs, according to the callers, included former presidential candidates Bill Richardson, Hillary Clinton, John Edwards, Fred Thompson, and Mitt Romney, and Joe Biden.
Several callers said McCain needed a black running mate to counter the success of Barack Obama among African American voters. The callers suggested Alan Keyes and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
