Overnight Warming Center Is Open In Kingston

Because of the cold spell, Ulster County Executive Mike Hein activated a warming center in Kingston that opened Thursday night.

The county’s warming center, hosted by the Clinton Avenue United Methodist Church, will provide shelter, cots and bedding, and a hot evening meal and breakfast. It will be open from 7:00 p.m. through 7:00 a.m. each day through Monday morning.  Hein says no one should be on the streets in freezing cold weather. He urges anyone in need of shelter during this time to either seek assistance at the warming center or call Family of Woodstock, which has a 24-hour hotline 845-679-2485.
