New Offerings, Old Favorites At The 102nd Big E

Sep 14, 2018

The largest state fair in New England, the Big E, is underway in western Massachusetts.

The gates to the 175-acre fairgrounds in West Springfield opened to the public this morning at 8 a.m.

This year’s fair features new foods to sample, a mixture of entertainment, traditional exhibits, and agriculture displays.

Each New England state has its own building to showcase products and culture.

A new barn was built where local wines will be available.

WAMC’s Pioneer Valley Bureau Chief Paul Tuthill spoke with Eastern States Exposition President and CEO Gene Cassidy.
