Vermont's capital city has been selected to host a major regional arts conference.
Montpelier Alive has announced that the New England Foundation for the Arts will hold its biannual Creative Communities Exchange there on June 6 and 7, 2019.
The Times Argus reports Montpelier was selected after a competitive application process to host an event which will bring nearly 300 leaders to discuss the creative economy.
Vermont Arts Council Executive Director Karen Mittelman says she was excited to hear Montpelier had been selected for the conference.
Mayor Anne Watson also welcomed the news of Montpelier's selection for the conference, saying the creative economy plays an important role in the city.
