Seward, Alaska – Harbor seals were once a common site on the shores of Alaska....but in the last 30 years or so, the population has declined by as much as 85 percent. Dr. Lori Polasek wants to know why. Polasek is studying harbor seals at the Alaska Sea Life Center in an effort to see if a shortage of high fat prey may be contributing to the decline by affects the seals growth.
