Two Democratic New York congressional representatives say funding is going toward job creation in the Hudson Valley.

Congresswoman Nita Lowey and Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney say the $60,000 investment from the Economic Development Agency is for the Hudson Valley Regional Council to establish a comprehensive economic development plan to attract private investments. Lowey says through a partnership with the Hudson Valley Regional Council, public and private sector stakeholders from across the Hudson Valley can continue to come together to develop a long-term plan for creating jobs and boosting the economy. The Hudson Valley Regional Council includes Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster and Westchester counties and the cities of Kingston, Middletown, Mount Vernon, Newburgh, Poughkeepsie, and Yonkers.
