500 cyclists are geared up to raise funds for Type 1 Diabetes research Saturday.
For the second year, the JDRF Ride To Cure Diabetes is in Saratoga Springs. More than 500 registered cyclists from 81 JDRF chapters nationwide are ready to ride. Spokesperson Denise Nicastro says with most of the fundraising already done, the focus is on the race itself, with 30 local riders representing the JDRF Northeastern New York chapter: "We've just about reached the $100,000 mark for our little team here locally and we have a lot of people that are riding that are living with and riding with Type 1 Diabetes."
According to the JDRF website the group is well on its way to reaching its $2 million goal.
