Cuomo: Bombers Will Be Brought To Justice

Governor Andrew Cuomo
Matt Ryan

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo addressed the explosion that rocked Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood Saturday night on Sunday morning.

Joined by public safety officials, Cuomo said those responsible for the 23rd Street explosion that injured at least 29 people will be brought to justice.

"You have the finest police agencies in the world when you come to New York and we will find who planted these explosives and they will be punished. Number two, we will not allow these type of people and these type of threats to disrupt our life in New York. That's what they want to do, we're not going to let them do it. This is freedom, this is democracy, and we're not going to allow them to take that from us," said Cuomo.

Cuomo said an assessment revealed no damage to the nearby subway system. About 1,000 New York State Police and National Guard personnel will be placed throughout the city for additional security.

Authorities in New York are coordinating across state lines to see if the Manhattan explosion is connected to a Saturday blast before a Marine Corps race in Seaside Park , New Jersey.
