Couple To Deliver Commencement Speech At Marist

Al Nowak/Marist

Two journalists will be the first husband-and-wife team to deliver a commencement address at Poughkeepsie-based Marist College.

PBS NewsHour Co-Anchor Judy Woodruff and Bloomberg View Columnist Al Hunt will deliver a joint address at Marist College’s undergraduate graduation  May 23. Both will be awarded Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degrees. In addition to their professional accomplishments, the couple fundraise for spina bifida research and advocate for families, who – like theirs – have children with the condition. Meanwhile, Specials Producer for CBS News Alvin Patrick will speak at the adult and graduate commencement May 22.  He will be awarded the Distinguished Alumnus Medal, the highest award presented to a Marist graduate.
