The novel introduced Diana Bishop, Oxford scholar and reluctant witch, and the handsome geneticist and vampire Matthew Clairmont. Now, picking up from the first book’s cliffhanger ending, Shadow of Night: A Novel plunges Diana and Matthew into Elizabethan London.
