Big Rig: Life on the Road with America's Truckers 4/27/07
Albany, NY – You can't talk truckin' movies without paying homage to Convoy. This classic 70s flick - full of sex, crime, and high speed chases - paints a picture of truck drivers as freewheeling outlaws who play by their own rules.
Filmmaker Doug Pray had Convoy lingering in the back of his mind when he set out on the road four years ago. He wanted to make a fun, lighthearted documentary about the wacky characters he imagined living their lives out on the open road. But as he spoke with truck drivers from all walks of life, he realized that today's truckers have a bigger story to tell. The Roundtable's Jennifer Nathan helps to tell the tale.
