BARKA Foundation, Working in Africa and the Berkshires

Massachusetts – Burkina Faso (bur-kee-na fah-so) is a landlocked country in West Africa that struggles with rampant poverty and disease. According to the CIA World Fact Book, the unemployment rate is more than 70 percent and the nation's economy is mainly subsidized by international aid. In recent years, a couple from the Berkshires started the BARKA Foundation to help those in Burkina. Our Berkshire Bureau Chief Charlie Deitz reports
