Award-Winning Filmmaker Will Teach At Bard College

An acclaimed filmmaker has been appointed as visiting artist in residence at a college in the Hudson Valley.

Charles Burnett, whose films include “Killer of Sheep,” “My Brother’s Wedding” and “To Sleep With Anger” will join Bard College faculty for the spring and fall semesters this year in the Film and Electronic Arts Program. Burnett will co-teach a course in the spring at the Annadale-on-Hudson based college on personal narratives, and an examination of his films will be included. Burnett’s films are recognized for their storytelling and observations of class, race and social relationships. In November 2017, Burnett received a Governors Award, an honorary Oscar.
