Police have released information about the robbery of an ATM at an American Legion in Pittsfield, Massachusetts last week.
With only a crowbar in hand, a masked man ripped out an ATM, which was bolted to the floor, and hoisted a 400-pound gun safe out of the manager’s office at Post 68. Roughly $2,500 was stolen.
There were similar thefts in Becket and Otis this year. Lee police responded to an unsuccessful attempt to steal an ATM at a Mobil gas station on Route 102 in July.
An ATM was also taken from O’Brien’s Market in Lenox in early August. Police say in that case, thieves made off with $3,000.
