Cigarettes and other tobacco products could become harder to find on store shelves in Albany County.
The Albany County Legislature passed a measure Monday banning the sale of tobacco products in pharmacies or stores containing pharmacies. Legislator Sam Fein co-sponsored the bill.
"I think it's important that tobacco isn't sold at pharmacies. Pharmacies really exist to provide medicine that will cure people."
Fein adds the measure has legislative and public support. It now goes to Democratic County Executive Daniel McCoy.
"I know that he vetoed it last time but it's really up to him."
A McCoy spokesperson tells WAMC the measure is under review
