Associate News Director Patrick Donges was brought on as Assistant News Director at WAMC in 2011 after first serving as the station’s Berkshire Bureau Chief out of Pittsfield, MA. Prior to his time at WAMC he reported on the city of Saratoga Springs for The Saratogian newspaper and served as News Director of WCDB 90.9 FM Albany, the University at Albany’s student radio station.

Born and raised in New York’s Mid-Hudson Valley, where he was an avid WAMC listener, Patrick first became acquainted with the WAMC News team in-person as a newsroom intern while completing his Bachelor of Arts degree in public affairs journalism and political science at the State University of New York at Albany.

Albany Mayor Jerry Jennings asks supporters to hold their applause just before formally announcing he would not seek a sixth term.

Albany Mayor Jerry Jennings has formally announced he will not run for a sixth term in office, ending a political career spanning more than three decades.

There was no shortage of applause, glad-handing, and backslapping at Albany City Hall Wednesday morning as Mayor Jerry Jennings, a Democrat, publicly announced what he had previously revealed in an open letter sent to members of the press and city officials Tuesday night announcing his intention not to seek reelection.
