UMASS to host Veterans panel

Amherst, MA – The University of Massachusetts at Amherst will host veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as the Vietnam and Gulf Wars from throughout the Pioneer Valley this evening. They will discuss issues affecting veterans as they return home from combat. The gathering is the first of its kind, and organizers hope it will act as a forum to open the public's eyes to the reality veterans face.

Surveillance cameras for Springfield on hold

Springfield, MA – The financial troubles of Springfield may prevent the state's most violent city from joining the small bandwagon of Massachusetts cities installing police surveillance cameras on city streets.
