Enviros to EPA: No More PCB Cleanup Delays

Hudson Falls, NY – Environmentalists are urging EPA officials to steer clear of any further delays in cleaning up P-C-Bs from the Hudson River. An EPA spokesman says though the start date for the cleanup is not certain, an agreement with General Electric to pick up the tab for the cleanup is expected soon. WAMC's Allison Dunne has more.

Counties Struggle to Repair Storm-Damaged Roads

Bolton, NY – Traffic is moving again across a stretch of the Adirondack Northway that was shut down by a mudslide a week ago. But the Interstate was not the only road damaged, and officials in New York's Warren and Essex Counties are still struggling to repair dozens of county and town roads.

Pittsfield, MA – Two new studies released by the federal Environmental Protection Agency say P-C-B's are harmful to humans and wildlife -- a major milestone in the process to the clean-up the contamination left by General Electric in the Housatonic River.

Sage College Announces Nanotech Incubator

Troy, NY – New York State Senate Majority Leader Joe Bruno announced today that he has secured 2.5 million dollars to Russell Sage College in Troy NY. The money will be used to create a Nanotech Incubator, making it the first of its kind at a womens college. More from Arielle Trimm
