Clavelle Endorses Hinda Miller for Mayor of Burlington

Burlington, VT – Out-going seven term Burlington, Vermont Mayor Peter Clavelle has endorsed Hinda Miller as the city's next mayor. His endorsement of one of the two Democrats vying for the position comes just before city Democrats gather to choose their candidate for the general election in March. Casino Merger Canned

Monticello, NY – All bets are off for a merger between two famous, historic resorts in Sullivan County, New York.
Empire Resorts, Inc., the company that owns Monticello Raceway and the Mighty M racino, which is the racetrack that also offers casino gaming in the Castkills, has announced that it's terminating its contract with Concord Associates Limited Partnership.

Judge Censured for Drinking

Kingston, NY – An Ulster County Judge has been censured by the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct for being on the bench while under the influence of alcohol. The incident occurred 10 years after he gave up drinking.

More HUD funding for New York's homeless

Albany, NY – Programs and services for the homeless in New York's Capital Region will receive nearly $3 million this year through the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development's Continuum of Care program and Emergency Shelter Grants. While the state's overall allotment--$142 million--is a 2% increase from last year, homeless service providers say it is not enough to effectively fight chronic homelessness.
