A Vision of Sun and Water

Now one man has a vision for a former mill in Chatham, New York - An industrial arts mill powered entirely by sun and water.

Town Supervisor Gives Up His Insurance to Keep Library Open

Ticonderoga, NY – Cities, villages and towns across the country are trying to craft their budgets with as few cuts and loss of services as possible. But that's becoming increasing difficult. In Ticonderoga, New York, the library was at risk due to cuts. At least, until the town supervisor stepped in and made a unique offer to keep the library open. Tracks laid out

Albany, NY – The New York State Department of Transportation has completed a study that recommends infrastructure improvements to the Hudson Line-the railway between New York City and Schenectady. The state Senate's high speed rail task force is advancing a similar agenda. Both point to the need for improvements to tracks in the Capital Region, which has become one of the nation's busiest transit hubs.

Roundtable conversation wtih Theatre 88's new play WHAT I HEARD ABOUT IRAQ 1/27/06

Albany, NY – As the war in Iraq rages on and the death toll rises daily, Theatre 88 will present WHAT I HEARD ABOUT IRAQ, a staged reading of the play that ignited the Los Angeles area. The play was originally adapted for the stage by Simon Levy from Eliot Weinberger's provocative article, "What I Heard About Iraq."

The cast is composed of Albany area theatre professors who are concerned about the war and wish to inspire a thoughtful, enlightened discussion. The reading also interweaves multi media sounds and images from real news footage.

Developer Holds Informational Meeting to Quell Rumors Over Adirondack Project

Tupper Lake, NY – The Adirondack Club and Resort is a proposed development in and around the former Big Tupper Ski Area. It would be the largest development project ever considered by the Adirondack Park Agency. The developers and town officials supporting the project held an informational meeting Thursday evening in an effort to quell negative rumors about the project. Tech Valley High on its way

Troy, NY – With an endorsement from Governor George Pataki, New York State's first Technology centered-high school is on the fast-track to open its doors at the Troy-based global headquarters of the MapInfo corporation in September of 2007.
