RPI to build supercomputer center

Troy, NY – Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute has entered a partnership with the state and with IBM to invest $100 million into what it is touting as the most powerful university-based supercomputer research center in the world. Colonie, NY – The Albany suburb of Colonie is collecting its first check today, just under $20,000, for the sale of electricity generated from decomposition of trash in the town's landfill.
