Rich Guthrie, local bird authority and frequent guest on WAMC, will present a four-part series The Birds and The Trees and Oh, so much more. This program will increase your knowledge and appreciation of bird species that frequent our area. Fall is a great time to watch birds as numerous species, not seen here most of the year, migrate through the Hudson Valley. In addition to a lively discussion on birds and their adaptations to seasonal changes, Rich will discuss how other organisms prepare for the coming cold wintery days of upstate New York. The series will start with an introductory program on Friday evening September 21, at the Willows at Brandow Point, 480 Rt. 385, Athens, NY 12015. This will be followed by three Saturday morning field trips on September 22, October 13, and October 20 to local nature preserves in Greene County to observe numerous bird species as they weave their way through our fall landscapes.
